Our History

  1. 1964

    The Wigley Group was established in 1964, when John Wigley founded an agricultural plant hire company and road building contractor.

  2. 1970s

    The company enjoyed great success throughout the 1960s, before opening a fully-fledged fabrication unit in the village of Barby in the early 1970s.

  3. 1970s

    The company rapidly diversified into the manufacturing of plant and specialist prison fencing before expanding into the commercial property sector.

  4. 1970s

    The purchase of Edgwick Park in Coventry from the world-famous engineering company, Alfred Herbert Works, began our move to commercial property and development.

  5. 1970s

    This was followed by the purchase of the nearby Godiva Trading Estate, which is now Gallagher Retail Park.

  6. 1990s

    The business saw rapid growth in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

  7. 2005

    In 2005 Robert Wigley took over from his father to lead the company.

  8. Today

    Based at Stockton House in Warwickshire, led by Chief Executive James Davies, Wigley Investment Holdings owns businesses that operate across the real estate life cycle.
